MBDS/ Sheet Masks Tips && Tricks

This post is going to be on getting the most out of your sheet masks and My Beauty Diaries. It's going to focus on storage and how to get the most excess serum for your neck, chest and arm areas =] I suggest watching the video, because it's not that long (under 4 minutes) and I can physically show you what I mean.

Storage:
If you buy masks in stores, they’re almost always stored upright. This is a problem because the excess/”loose” serum/ essence in the mask tends to settle towards the bottom half of the packet which is usually the nose & cheek area, meaning your chin and forehead will dry faster.

To fix this, you should always flip the box upside down for a night or two before using, that way some of the serum/ essence in the mask comes back “down” towards the chin and forehead.

From then on you whether they may be in their original boxes, shoe box or drawer, masks should be stored flat/ horizontal and flipped weekly/ bi- weekly. This way the serum/ essence in the mask will never settle on one side more then the other, resulting in an evenly moist mask.

If you’ve purchased masks online, you don’t know how it’s stored in the warehouse, because they don’t care about aesthetic appeal as long as everything fits. When your masks arrive, use one from the box, try to see what part of the mask dries faster and flip the box towards that direction for a night or two. From then on, store horizontally, flipping weekly/ bi-weekly.

Getting the most Excess Serum/ Essence for your MBDs:

After removing the plastic backing to your sheet mask, DON’T throw it away!!! Put it aside while you apply the sheet mask, afterwards wipe off all the excess serum/ essence off the backing and apply it to the desired areas. If you usually throw the backing away, you’ll be surprised with the amount of leftover serum on the plastic backing.

If you have tips and tricks on storing and getting the most out of your masks, please share!!!

Skin79 - Super BB VIP Gold (bubbi's video)
Skin Food - Mushroom Multi Care BB Cream (because of Elle's review)
Skin Food - Red Bean BB Cream

I was going to get the Hot Pink Skin79 BB because of Jen frmheadtotoe but then I read somewhere (can't remember where) that pink was better for oily skin and gold was better for dry. My aunt ended up getting the pink one so I've been trying it from her =p

If you look at the date of Elle's review, I've been eyeing the mushroom bb cream for the LONGEST time lol, you can't imagine my joy when I finally got my hands on it... btw her video review (i think she had a different video...)  got me interested and her blog review made me want it, i almost forgot it because Kat's review was neutralish, then Elle mentioned it on one of her tag posts that it was an indispensable product etc...  the reason I wrote such a long paragraph, is because this is one of the few products/ bb creams I've tried numerous times to get my hands on but failed, almost forgot it then finally have it... the whole "process" was almost a year  LOL =] btw I'm loving it so far, as well as the other bb creams above, but no reviews yet!!!

Both bloggers picked Kiss me over Dolly Wink and K-Palette =p

Hong Kong Lottery Tickets

I've been in Hong Kong for a week and a half now, and I've noticed the culture is quite interesting =] One of the things I learned, is that Hong Kong people like lining up!!! Personally I'm not a fan of lines, but I've been told Hong Kong people love lining up for things, whether it may be for lottery tickets or LE items. It's not necessarily the lining up for something in the heat, but rather getting the highly sought after item.

Yesterday's lottery was 100 million HKD (apprx 12 million CAD) people went crazy and lined up to buy tickets, apparently they've never had a lottery grand prize this high. I'm not someone that buys lottery tickets every week, just occasionally so this was quite interesting. In Canada one can buy lottery tickets at almost every drug or convience store, but in Hong Kong they have "clubs" that sell them. They usually have have many locations, and one can also buy via the phone, cell phone or online, my grandfather was extremly excited, and wanted to go to the location that had the most jackpots. So we lined up to purchase tickets, it was quite long, after lining up outside, there were more lines inside, but it was better there because they had a/c! The "transactions/ purchase" was extremely quick, but because there were so many people, we had to exit from a sketchy back stairway.

I ended up spending $230 HKD of lottery tickets, which is apprx $28 CND... that's quite a lot of money =0 I purchased 2 $70 tickets on behalf of my parents and I myself spent $90. I didn't plan to buy a ticket, only accompany my grandfather and purchase of behalf of my parents, but I got caught up in the hype XD lol I wanted to get a $70 quick pick, but the lady made a mistake so I ended up with 2 tickets. Unfortunately I didn't win =[ not even a little prize, but I did see people buy like 15 tickets or more which is absolutely crazy in my opinion.

P.S this post was meant to go up last week? but it didn't so here it is now XD lol
